Lady Gaga’s new video was made officially available on VEVO, just a couple of hours after it had leaked.

The song in question (“Judas”) generated a lot of buzz, if only because a song which such a name seemed tailor-made for Gaga’s own concept of religion.

But now that the video has become available, it is fair to say that the clip breaks no new ground in any sense. It is just more of the usual raciness.

Fans of James Bond movies and spy flicks on the whole will love the lipstick gun, though.

Is Gaga’s star beginning to set? Mmmh…

I have begun writing the final book in the trilogy I started in 2009 with “Once”, and that saw the release of “Ten” just last year.

This time around, it is a book of short stories.

I am blogging about this new book extensively in the months to come (it is being published on the 2nd of December – the day I’m becoming 32).

What I want to share with you today is the song that is firing me up to write the main story of the whole book. It is a song by Canadian linchpins Barenaked Ladies, and it is found on their debut album, “Gordon”. I’m also listening to Soul Asylum a lot – I’ve just got the band’s full discography.

Weird Al Yankovic has just recorded and uploaded a parody of GaGa’s newest single (“Born This Way”) to his YouTube channel.

This parody is named “Perform This Way”, and it basically pokes fun at Lady GaGa’s flamboyant stage antics. It also puts its finger on the similarities between Gaga’s song and Maddona’s “Express Yourself” – something that will have the nay-sayers frenziedly clapping their hands in approval.

“Perform This Way” is going to be the leadoff single of Weird Al Yankovic’s new album, “ALPOCALYPSE” (out on June 21).

For those of you who are not acquainted with him, this is a video of multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird doing what he does best. He doesn’t run out of steam for the entire duration of this composition (20 solid minutes).

Just for the record, I discovered Andrew when listening to My Morning Jacket’s “Z”. He handled strings and woodwinds there, and gave everything a true air of magnificence.

Having once founded and captained a band named The Bowl Of Fire, Andrew is currently a solo artist.

The whole Internet is immersed on a debate regarding the merits of Rebecca Black. On the one hand, many critics denounce her for having lowered the tone beyond all recognizable limits. On the other hand, an artist such as Lady Gaga calls her an outright genius.

I wonder what people on either side of the argument will say when they get to watch this video. Created by Disasteradio, it shows us that there is always some new pit to fall into.

The Guinness World Record For The Largest Guitar Lesson Ever Is Set

A new Guinness world record has been set by Grammy-winning guitarist Steve Vai and Berkleemusic (the online division of the Berklee College of Music), namely the record for the most massive online guitar lesson ever.

This live lesson took place at the beginning of March, and it was broadcast from Livestream Studios in New York City. On the whole, 7000 people attended (with 4455 alone tuning in during the first 15 minutes).

Just as importantly, Berkleemusic donated $7,000 (a dollar for every attendee) to the Steve Vai Online Scholarship Fund at Berkleemusic.

Singer/songwriter Rebecca Black Has Got A Lot Of Attention Recently, But The Adoration Is Clearly Being Ironic.

Rebecca Black is a singer/songwriter that has become publicly-known after her song “Friday” was derisorily mentioned by comedian Michael J. Nelson on a tweet. Nelson remarked that the clip Rebecca shot for “Friday” answered the question of “What’s the worst video ever made?” more or less uniformly.

Interest on her picked up from there. Rebecca got a mention on the Comedy Central series Tosh.0, and she has been a trending topic on Twitter for the last couple of days.

Her song “Friday” has been written off time and again, but some were also quick to point that even though the song is a million miles away from being a masterpiece, it has a certain catchiness that hints at (some) potential.

I guess it’s all going to be a matter of which career moves Rebecca makes now, while all eyes are on her…
