Uruguayan punk rockers Contraste have just released their first official music video. It’s set to the music of “My Place”, their new promotional cut.
Contraste is made up of Bruno Espino (Vocals), Adrián Fontaiña (guitars), Koki (bass) and Germán Bonet (drums). A slightly different lineup of the band had released an eponymous demo on 2010 (free download), and “My Place” signals a change of pace, as it’s only suitable – the song is entirely in English.
The video was shot between January and February 2013, and more locations were featured in its four minutes that in all 6 seasons of “Lost” combined!
You remember “Lost”, don’t you? You know, the show which had us all at the edge of our seats, guessing what would happen next. And in the final episode, it was revealed they were all dead. And Jack and Sawyer were the same person, and they had started a fight club.
That’s the way I remember it, at least. That’s the way…
“Official music video” A bombastic phrase if I ever wrote one.
Well, a great deal of work obviously went into filming the video of “My Place”. I’m an artist, I know what I’m talking about, you know.
I once made a drawing. It took me ages, it was a little dog fighting a dinosaur. The end result was fantastic. There, there:
It went straight into my wall.
If you look closely, you’ll notice the dog is about to win the battle. I despise unfairness, it brings out the worst in me. There, there. A picture of me in my previous life:
If you look closely, you’ll see that a previous incarnation of a member of Contraste is also there. You’ll have to squeeze your nose against the screen, but believe me, he’s there. I’m not joking. I never do. I have more pressing matters to attend to in life, I can’t afford to waste my time fooling around.
Q. How many Freudian analysts does it take to change a light bulb?
A. Two, one to change the bulb and one to hold the penis, I mean ladder.
